Alleged Baseball Bat Attacker Behind Bars

Robert Russell of Merrimack, on the run for four days, turned himself in to Manchester Police last night after allegedly pummeling three.

MANCHESTER, NH — A local man who was wanted for an early morning baseball attack of three people last week, including a teen, in the Queen City, turned himself in to police on Aug. 2, 2016, according to a report. Robert Russell, 30, of Canterbury Way in Merrimack, has been charged with three felony counts of first-degree assault in the case.

Police allege that at around 1:15 a.m. on July 29, Russell attacked a man first, then a woman, as she jumped in to help, and then a teenager, on the front porch of their apartment building on West Hancock Street in Manchester.

Russell is scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester District Court this morning.

Russell has a history with police, according to reports online. He was arrested in Bedford in September 2013 on driving charges. In April 2014, he was arrested on a warrant in Manchester, and in September 2014, he was arrested in Amherst for driving after a suspension, resisting, and bench warrants issued by Exeter District Court and Bedford Police.
