Couple Fighting in a Parking Lot Leads to Arrest Charge

Merrimack Police: David Perez was charged with assault after an altercation in a parking lot.

MERRIMACK, NH — Police arrested a man last week after an altercation with a woman in a parking lot on the Daniel Webster Highway, according to police. David Evangelista Perez, 28, of an unknown address, was arrested on Sept. 26, 2016, for domestic violence-simple assault.

At just before 5 p.m., police were called to a parking lot on the DW Highway for a report of a domestic incident with assault between a man and a woman.

“It was also reported that the male party had received an injury to his face,” according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department. “Upon arrival, the male party involved was identified as David Evangelista Perez. The victim reported being grabbed by Perez which resulted in Perez being struck in the face which caused the injury.”

After further investigation by the officers, Perez was arrested. He was released on bail and had a court date the next day.

According to posts online, Perez, who previously lived in Nashua, was arrested in April of this year after an accident on Amherst Road. Back in October 2013, he was arrested on drug sale charges in Nashua.
