Mass. Woman Arrested On Five Theft Charges

Stephanie Mann of Brockton was arrested after an 18-month investigation into mail and packages being taken from a Merrimack condo complex.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Bay State woman was arrested yesterday after a long investigation into packages and mail being stolen from residents at a local condominium complex, according to police. Stephanie Mann, 41, of Beach Street in Brockton, MA, was arrested on Aug. 7, 2017, and charged with five counts of theft by unauthorized taking. Back in January 2016, according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department, the department began investigating a report of mail and packages being taken from a local condo complex.

“During the course of the investigation, a substantial amount of mail and packages addressed to various residents within the condominium complex were found inside a vehicle that was owned by another resident within the complex,” MacLeod alleged. “The investigating officers were able to determine that the vehicle where the items were found was primarily operated by a Stephanie Mann.”

Mann is due in Merrimack District Court on Sept. 12.

Mann, according to posts on Patch, is no stranger to police. Back in June 2013, she was arrested by New Hampshire State Police after a multi-month forged prescription-controlled drug fraud investigation. A little more than two years later, in December 2015, she was arrested in Merrimack for allegedly stealing meds from guests who were staying at her Middlesex Road condo, according to police.
