North Carolina Man Accused Of Drug Dealing In Merrimack: Cop Log

Plus: Mass. man faces two assault charges; Bedford man charged with conduct after accident; Manchester man charged with forgery.

MERRIMACK, NH — Philip Wetmore, 37, of Cottagefield Lane in Leland, North Carolina, was arrested on July 27 and charged with felony possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. Around 1:45 p.m., a department employee was sent to the Strafford County Jail to pick up Wetmore on a warrant stems from a February 2020 incident. At that time, police were sent to the Quality Inn for a welfare check inside one of the motel rooms. “Officers were able to make entry into the room where they found Wetmore and multiple substances which appeared to be illicit drugs and narcotics,” according to Sgt. Michael Lambert. “Officers secured the room and obtained a search warrant. Once that warrant was granted, officers then seized those substances and an arrest warrant was later issued.” Wetmore refused bail and was transported to the county jail. He was arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South later in the day.

Jason Parks, 30, of Welch Road in South Easton, Massachusetts, was arrested on simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault charges on July 24. Police were sent to the Merrimack Premium Outlets Mall after receiving a 911 call from two women who claimed to have been assaulted by a man. The man, a report stated, fled the area in a Nissan Armada with Mass. plates. The vehicle was stopped and police accused the driver, Parks, of being uncooperative. “Upon further investigation by the officers who spoke with the victims, it was determined that Parks had assaulted one of the victims by punching the victim in the head and the other by grabbing her around the neck,” a report stated. Parks was arrested, released on personal recognizance bail, and was scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Tuesday.

Jeffrey Gannon, 42, of Hawthorne Drive in Bedford was arrested on July 11 and charged with conduct after an accident and criminal mischief. He was arrested on a warrant after police accused him of striking a parked vehicle in the parking lot of a Merrimack restaurant on June 6 and then, leaving without offering information to the owner of the other vehicle. Gannon was due to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Richard A. Russell, 57, of Lake Avenue in Manchester was arrested on July 9 on a felony forgery charge. Police were sent to a bank to investigate a fraud case. The bank accused Russell of trying to cash a fraudulent check for almost $5,000. During the investigation, police discovered the company that owned the account did not issue the check to Russell, according to a report. He was arrested and released later. Russell is due in Hillsborough County Superior Court South for arraignment at a later date.
