On July 16, 2014, in Merrimack, Witty allegedly caused the death of Elizabeth McQuinn by failing to stop at a red light on Route 101A in Merrimack causing his dump truck to strike her car. He was indicted earlier this year on a manslaughter charge but the charge was lowered in October.
According to police reports at the time, the accident occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Route 101A and Continental Boulevard. Merrimack Police said McQuinn was driving a Kia Sorento and attempted to make a left turn from McDonald’s to travel west on Route 101A when her vehicle was struck by the dump truck traveling east on Route 101A. The Merrimack Fire Department extricated McQuinn and pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police.
