Yelling Incident at Merrimack Restaurant Leads to Arrest

Police allege that Mark Burke resisted arrest after officers tried to question him about the incident.

The Fourth of July wasn’t such a hot holiday for one local man who ended up with charges after an incident at a local restaurant.

Mark E. Burke, 43, of Kimberly Drive in Merrimack, was arrested on July 4, 2015, on two resisting arrest or detention charges.

According to police, officers were sent to a local restaurant at around 8:15 p.m. for a report of a man yelling in the bar area and then, leaving.

“Upon the arrival of the Merrimack Police, they area was searched and Burke was located behind the area of the restaurant,” according to Sr. Mptl Walters. “When a Merrimack Police Officer requested Burke to stop and talk with him. Burke fled the area.”

An officer caught up with him later and was questioning him about the complaint. He then allegedly fled the area again but was apprehended. Burke was charged with two counts of resisting.

Burke was later released on personal recognizance bail and is due to be in court on July 14.
