On Saturday, police were sent to the area of Eaton Street near Ledge Street for a report of a fight where a man was shot. Officers arrived and found the man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. During the investigation, Angers Manuel Hernandez Peguero, 19, of Nashua, was identified as a “possible suspect” based on witness statements and available evidence, according to police.

Peguero was arrested later, about a half mile from the shooting incident, police said Monday.

While investigating the shooting, police learned Vidal-Morel, the subject of “multiple drug investigations,” according to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor of the Nashua Police Department, “was present at the scene, where he allegedly threatened multiple people with a firearm.” Vidal-Morel was then accused of giving the firearm to Peguero, “which was then used in the shooting,” Cinelli said.

In the complaint, police accused Peguero of shooting at a second man during the incident. The complaint also accused Vidal-Morel of threatening a man from Massachusetts, saying he was going to “blow his head off,” and saying to the second man, “I’ll explode you.”

Police had an active warrant for Vidal-Morel’s arrest on one charge of crack cocaine sale, which was revised in court to three possession-sale charges. The dates of the drug deals were redacted from the complaint, but Cinelli said the investigation started earlier this year.

Vidal-Morel was charged and held without bail. He was arraigned in Nashua District Court on Wednesday.

Not unlike the Peguero case files, Det. Don Weiss of the Nashua Police Department requested a judge to seal the documents from Vidal-Morel’s case on May 5. The judge granted the request, in part, on May 6.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Crime Line at 603-589-1665.
