“Peguero was located a short time later while he was traveling in a vehicle with a female,” Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor of the Nashua Police Department, said. “It was discovered that Peguero had active bail conditions prohibiting him from having contact with this female in his vehicle due to a prior domestic dispute.”

Peguero was arrested about a half mile from the fight scene.

“Detectives were able to determine that Peguero had fired the shots that had injured the male subject, and he was subsequently taken into custody,” Cinelli said.

Peguero was held without bail.

On Monday, the county attorney’s office requested the Nashua District Court to seal the probable cause affidavit, arrest warrant, and support affidavit for 90 days.

Det. Don Weiss told the court the investigation remained active and involved “multiple identified and unidentified individuals who are alleged to have participated in the offense.” Investigators also spoke to civilian witnesses who provided statements, “specific descriptions of the events leading up to and following the shooting, investigative methods, and evidence collection efforts.” Weiss said the safety of the witnesses was “of paramount concern,” given the nature of the offense, and “the involvement of multiple assailants.” The revelation of investigatory materials “could compromise the integrity of the ongoing investigation by alerting additional suspects who have not yet been apprehended, allowing individuals to tailor their statements or otherwise interfere with the investigation, undermining law enforcement's ability to effectively pursue leads and secure additional evidence,” he wrote.

Judge Tanya Spony granted the request, “in part,” saying notification was entitled to a probable cause hearing.

Peguero was held and is due back in court on May 12.

The victim of the shooting was a man from Lowell, Massachusetts, who was in his early 20s, according to Hollis police in January. He also previously lived on the same street as the shooting in September 2024, according to Nashua police.
