Avard Wins in a Squeaker
The District 12 State Senate seat goes back to the Republicans. Nashua's other seat stays Democrat as Lasky wins re-election.

The New Hampshire Democratic Party threw everything but the kitchen sink at former state Rep. Kevin Avard, R-Nashua, after his past criminal record and personal bankruptcy issues were revealed in mailers throughout District 12. The largest newspaper in the district, the Nashua Telegraph, also endorsed the incumbent, state Sen. Peggy Gilmour, D-Hollis.
But in the end, it didn’t matter.
The voters spoke on Nov. 4, and Avard prevailed in what is considered to be a lean-Republican state Senate district by slightly more than 300 votes, according to the Associated Press.
