Help 'Stamp Out Hunger' Food Drive in Nashua By Leaving Out Canned Goods Saturday
Letter carriers will collect food donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes.

Letter carries across New Hampshire will participate in their annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Sat., May 9.
Residents can help by leaving non-perishable food donations near their mailboxes

“This is the largest one day food in the country where we collect tens of thousands of pounds of food and deliver it directly to the local food banks, pantries, and shelters,” said Wayne Alterisio, President of the New Hampshire State Association of Letter Carriers, in a statement. “On May 9th, please leave a bag of non-perishable food items near your mailbox so our local hungry will not go without.”

- Canned soup
- Canned vegetables
- Canned meats and fish
- Pasta
- Peanut butter
- Rice
- Cereal
Carriers will bring the food to local food banks, pantries, or shelters.
Officials said the drive is especially important this year after the harsh winter.
“Stamp Out Hunger” is billed as the country’s largest one-day food drive. About 175,000 letter carriers in 10,000 cities across the country are expected to participate.
