Man Pulled From Nashua River 22 Feet Under Dies: Report

A man pulled from the Nashua River downtown over the weekend has reportedly died.

NASHUA, NH — A man pulled from under 22 feet of water in the Nashua River over the weekend has reportedly died. The man, who has not been identified, jumped off the Main Street Bridge by The Peddler's Daughter Saturday night. Witnesses called for help, according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief Karl Gerhard.

A dive team found the man within five minutes in 22 feet of water and he was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, where he later died, according to the Associated Press. The man was found in water with "zero visibility," Gerhard said.

During the rescue, a dive team member became tangled underwater during the search but was able to get free, Gerhard said.
