Nashua River Rescue: Man Pulled From 22 Feet Of Water
Nashua firefighters said crews pulled an individual from the Nashua River Saturday night.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua first responders on Saturday night pulled a man from the Nashua River downtown. The individual apparently jumped into the river near the Main Street Bridge by The Peddler's Daughter and witnesses called for help, according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief Karl Gerhard. A dive team found the man in 22 feet of water and he was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. The condition of the man was not known late Saturday, Gerhard said in a statement.
A dive team member became tangled underwater during the search but was able to get free, Gerhard said. The dive team found the man about 5 minutes after launching boats.
"Entanglement hazards in water (sunken trees, branches, etc.) posed a risk to divers," Gerhard said in a statement. "The primary diver did encounter a brief entanglement due to this type of debris. Darkness of time of day of incident also presented a challenge for all crews and divers."
