Nashua Bomb Squad Called After Grenade Donated to Goodwill
The Nashua Bomb Squad responded to the Hudson Goodwill Monday after police said someone donated a grenade.

HUDSON, NH — Goodwill happily accepts old clothes, shoes, and furniture, among other items.
Grenades? Not so much.
Police said someone donated a grenade to the Hudson Goodwill on Watson road Monday—leading to a response by the Nashua Bomb Squad. Officers encountered the grenade and discovered it was hollowed out and didn't have explosives inside.

Police said the incident happened Monday night when the store was closing and only employees were inside. They were allowed back in after the bomb squad completed its sweep.
The grenade was found in a box of goods donated to the store. Hudson police said they were immediately unable to identify who donated it. An investigation was ongoing.

This isn't the first time someone has donated a grenade to Goodwill; similar incidents have been reported in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Edmonton. Police advise people not to donate such items, even if they're decorative.
