Nashua Drug Sweep: 5 Arrested

Nashua police arrested Karl Saunders, George Degraan, Scott Regan. Joyce Garcia and Jeffrey Perkins in the latest "Granite Hammer" sweep.

NASHUA, NH — Five suspects were arrested in the latest Nashua "Granite Hammer" drug sweep, police announced Friday. It was the sixth city drug sweep of 2017 and increased the total number of suspects arrested to 35.

The arrests, made Thursday, were the result of "extensive" investigations into city drug dealing, according to Nashua police Chief Andrew Lavoie. These are the five suspects:

  • Karl Saunders, 34, of Nashua, was charged with oxycodone possession and falsifying evidence. He was held on $7,500 bail.
  • George Degraan, 43, of Nashua, was charged with heroin possession and held on $2,500 bail.
  • Scott Regan, 49, of Hudson, was charged with gabapentin possession and held on $5,000 bail.
  • Joyce Garcia, 45, of Nashua, was charged with suboxone and gabapentin possession. She was held on $5,000 bail.
  • Jeffrey Perkins, 56, of Nashua, was charged with selling suboxone and held on $25,000 bail.

The Granite Hammer program is a collaboration between local police agencies and the FBI targeting drug trafficking, especially involving heroin. The latest sweep was conducted Thursday. Another sweep conducted Monday netted six arrests.
