Nashua Man Charged With Cashing More Than $1,500 In Bad Checks

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was charged with Class A felony theft on Tuesday after an investigation determined he knowingly cashed numerous bad checks in May. Nashua Police said Michael McNulty, 26, withdrew money from checks totaling $1,500 over six occasions knowing there were insufficient funds to cover the checks.

Nashua Detectives were granted an arrest warrant charging McNulty with one count of felony consolidated theft by deception along with six misdemeanor counts of passing bad checks and one misdemeanor count of theft.

A Class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years in state prison. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in the County House of Corrections.

McNulty was released on personal recognizance bail pending his arraignment at the Hillsborough Superior Court-South on Oct. 17.
