Nashua School Threat Suspect Issued Ransom: Report

All Nashua public schools were closed Monday after an e-mailed threat, police said.

NASHUA, NH — The person who threatened violence at both Nashua public high schools is likely local and demanded a ransom, according to a new report.

CNN cited a law enforcement official as saying the suspect who e-mailed and threatened violence is likely local and demanded payment to prevent the attack.

Nashua public school officials canceled classes Monday. Schools will reopen Tuesday.

During a news conference, Nashua Police Chief Andrew Lavoie said the threat was likely a hoax. Officers searched both high schools and found nothing.
