Nashua Teen Burglar Hurt After Victim Fights Back: Police

NASHUA, NH — Two Nashua teenagers were arrested Saturday after police said they burglarized another teen's residence and attacked those inside — only to have one of the victims fight back. Yiranel Siri, 18, and Jarid Kukas, 19, face a host of charges. Police said one of the burglary victims, a 17-year-old, fought back and caused a noticeable facial injury to Siri. The burglary happened Saturday at about 3 a.m., police said.

"The victim reported that two men he was familiar with, identified as Kukas and Siri, broke into his residence and assaulted him numerous times," Nashua police Lieutenant Kerry Baxter said in a statement. The victim fought back, Baxter said, causing a facial injury to Siri. The victim also suffered minor injuries, Baxter said.

Kukas attacked another individual in the residence and also damaged a door, Baxter said.

Kukas was charged with burglary, assault and criminal mischief. Siri was charged with burglary. The pair refused bail, Baxter said. The suspects will be arraigned Monday in Nashua District Court.
