Nashua Woman Arrested On Arson Charge
Police accuse Chelsie Morgan of starting a fire at an apartment building in late June.

NASHUA, NH — A woman was arrested on an arson charge on Thursday accused of starting a fire in an apartment building in June.
Police said Chelsie Morgan, 31, of no fixed address in Nashua, was arrested Thursday on a single felony arson count. Nashua fire and rescue teams were sent to a multi-unit apartment building on June 20, according to Sgt. Nicole Hannigan of the criminal investigation division of the Nashua Police Department.
“The fire was later deemed suspicious by the Nashua Fire Department and detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Nashua Police Department furthered the investigation,” she said. “Detectives determined Chelsie Morgan was responsible for causing the fire and an arrest warrant was obtained charging Chelsie with arson, a Class A felony.”

A Nashua fire official did not return an email about whether or not the arson case involved a fire at a West Pearl Street apartment building, the only reported fire from that date.

Morgan was released on a personal recognizance bail. She is due in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South for arraignment on Aug. 12. She faces up to 15 years in prison as well as fines.

Morgan, according to posts on Patch, was arrested during a Granite Hammer drug sweep in November 2017 on warrants. She was arrested on Felonies First warrants for failure to appear on original charges of possession of heroin and possession of cocaine. Back in October 2017, Morgan was arrested on two felony possession of a controlled drug charges and a controlled drug: control premises where drugs kept in Epping. Later, she pleaded guilty to premises where drugs are kept, a misdemeanor.
