NH Pumpkin Festival Has New Home
Nashua, Portsmouth, and Hampton had been mentioned as a potential venue for the festival. Officials went with another city.
The Keene Pumpkin Festival has a new home.
Unfortunately—or fortunately, depending on your view—it’s not Nashua.
Festival officials picked Laconia.

The festival last year drew infamy when about 100 people—mostly Keene State College students—were arrested during and after a riot. Several fires were set and police used tear gas and pepper bullets to quell the crowd. Hundreds of officers from surrounding states descended on Keene to get the situation under control.
In the aftermath, the Keene City Council denied a permit for the festival this year, which is the festival’s 25th anniversary.

Nashua, Portsmouth, and Hampton were mentioned as potential host cities for this year’s festival, but officials picked Laconia instead. The event will happened Oct. 24.
In a statement, officials said their primary goal is to make it a “spectacular, safe, family-friendly event.”
