They made contact with the victim and learned that a man had reportedly confronted her as she exited her Nissan Cube and demanding the keys to the vehicle. The suspect reportedly drove north on Main Street.

About 10 minutes later, there was a crash on the northbound side of the Everett Turnpike between Exits 4 and 5, involving the stolen Cube.

“It was discovered that prior to police arrival at this collision, Calvin abandoned the Nissan Cube and waived down a passing vehicle, a silver Volvo, southbound on the Everett Turnpike,” according to Lt. Craig Allard of the Nashua Police Department. “Calvin subsequently displayed a knife, demanded this second victim exit her vehicle and physically attacked this victim. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and Calvin fled operating the stolen Volvo south on the Everett Turnpike.”

This victim sustained a non-life threatening wound to the leg and was subsequently treated and released from a local hospital, according to Allard.

At around 2:30 p.m., officers spotted the Volvo traveling north on the Everett Turnpike near Exit 1 and pursued the vehicle but lost sight of it due to “excessive speed,” according to Allard. New Hampshire State Police spotted the vehicle and then, the Volvo reportedly crashed with numerous other vehicles on the turnpike, right near the previous accident.

“Calvin was taken into custody by members the Nashua Police Department after a brief struggle,” Allard noted. “Calvin sustained non-life threatening injuries during this collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”

Detectives began an investigation with the NHSP into the incident after Calvin was sent to Massachusetts for further treatment. An arraignment date has not been set on a fugitive from justice charge, according to Allard.
