Police In Nashua Quickly Capture Citizens Bank Robbery Suspect
Mario M. Monserrate Morgan was arrested on a single felony count, accused of robbing a bank on Main Street on June 9.

NASHUA, NH — A man from Nashua was arrested and held without bail after a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Main Street earlier this month.
Around 1 p.m. on June 9, police were sent to the bank in response to a report of a robbery. The suspect fled via the rear of the bank, according to employees. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a blue shirt and shorts, with a scarf covering his face, and carrying a backpack.
As officers arrived, one found a man matching the suspect’s description on East Pearl Street, about four blocks away from the bank. The man was detained while a K-9 was deployed at the scene. The K-9, according to an affidavit, tracked the scent directly to the man who was being detained: Mario M. Monserrate Morgan, 31, of Chestnut Street in Nashua.

At the bank, employees were interviewed, and a sergeant eyed security footage. A teller said the suspect, who was dark-skinned and had an accent, placed the backpack on the counter and demanded she put money in it, a report stated. The robber also told the clerk not to activate the alarm, a detective wrote.
The sergeant sent two security footage photos to the sergeant and officers with Morgan, and they positively identified him as the robber, the affidavit said.

“His clothing was an exact match to what he was observed wearing on the bank’s security cameras,” the detective wrote later.

Morgan was arrested on a felony robbery count and taken to police headquarters. During booking, his backpack was searched. Inside, police found a cap gun wrapped in a blue T-shirt and $645 in cash, the affidavit said.
“Of note,” the report said, “there were $140 in new, sequential $2 bills.”
Detectives interviewed other employees about the incident.
The teller who was robbed told one she gave the suspect $645, the affidavit said. She added her drawer was rarely off, the report said.
Morgan was arraigned by video on June 10, requested an attorney, offered no plea, and was detained. A probable cause hearing was held on Wednesday.
Morgan is no stranger to police, having been charged with crack cocaine possession during a police roundup in the summer of 2025.
The case is still active.
In December 2025, the charge was boundover to Hills South and an interpreter was requested for him.
Morgan failed to appear in court on May 1. A motion to continue was granted on June 11, while a plea and sentencing hearing was canceled on June 12. A status conference is booked for July 10.
