Red Flag Fire Alert Issued for New Hampshire
Forecasters, state officials warn of brushfire, wildfire dangers through tonight.

A red flag alert has been issued for the Granite State from noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Gusty winds at times combined with very dry air behind a cold front could fuel additional wildfires through Wednesday.
“An elevated fire danger is likely to persist across the area,” the National Weather Service offered in a statement. “Anyone considering outside burning should monitor later statements from the National Weather Service as well as local and state officials before burning.”

Any brushfires or wildfires “may spread rapidly and uncontrollably” due to the weather conditions, forecasters noted.
The alert comes on the heels of yesterday’s fire watch and numerous brushfires reported throughout the state including major fires in Concord, Canterbury, Durham, Gilmanton, Jaffrey, Rochester, and other areas of New Hampshire.
