Rhode Island Woman Arrested On ID Fraud And Theft Charges In NH
Nicole Espinal, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was accused of trying to fraudulently buy $1,500+ in items at a Nashua Verizon Wireless store.

NASHUA, NH — A Rhode Island woman was arrested and held on bail Thursday after being accused of attempting to purchase cellphone products in another person's name in the Gate City. Just before 2 p.m., officers were called to the Verizon Wireless store on the Daniel Webster Highway for a possible fraud incident. When they arrived, officers spoke with employees at the store and the suspect — Nicole Mencia Espinal, 24, of Lenox Road in Cranston — about the incident.
Espinal was arrested by officers and charged with identity fraud and attempted theft by deception, both felonies.
After the arrest, "detectives within the Criminal Investigations Bureau furthered this investigation and determined Mencia Espinal entered the store and attempted to fraudulently obtain merchandise valued over $1,500.00 while posing as another," according to Lt. Daniel Medereos, of the criminal investigation division of the Nashua Police Department.
