NASHUA, NH — A felon from Massachusetts, with a history of stealing from the New Hampshire State Liquor and Wine Outlet, was arrested on a new charge, accusing him of stealing tequila earlier this month.

Jeyson Perez, 40, of Lawrence, MA, was arrested on a warrant on Feb. 9 on a single felony count of theft by unauthorized taking-two prior convictions.

According to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor with the Nashua Police Department, cops were sent to the liquor store at 294 Daniel Webster Highway for a report of a theft. A store manager accused two men of entering the store, concealing bottles of tequila under their clothes, and leaving the store without attempting to pay for the product.

“With the assistance of the Salem Police Department,” he said, “one of the suspects was identified as Jeyson Perez.”

Detectives were assigned the case and found that Perez had previously been convicted of theft, which elevated the new charge to a felony. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Perez was arrested and released on personal recognizance. He is due in Nashua District Court on March 18.

According to superior court records, Perez’s criminal history dates back about a decade or so.

Back in September 2015, he was arrested on two felony receiving stolen property charges, $1,501-plus, and a misdemeanor theft by unauthorized taking charge, after an incident in Merrimack. One of the felony charges was nolle prossed in December 2015, while the two other charges were conditional nolle prossed in January 2016.

In Salem between September and December 2018, Perez racked up nine new felony theft charges. In May 2019, he pleaded guilty to four felony charges, while the others were nolle prossed. Perez received a 12-month sentence. He also received one 12-month and two one-and-a-half-to-three-year suspended sentences. Perez was also required to pay $36,367.49 in restitution to several stores at the Mall at Rockingham Park, as well as the New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet. Perez was given work release in July 2019. However, in January 2025, he was found in violation of a court order, and a new agreement was approved.

Perez was accused of eight charges of willful concealment and theft in Salem in January and February 2025. He reached a plea deal on Jan. 22 and was given two suspended sentences of one to four years and one year of probation. According to court records, $4,960 in fines were also suspended. Perez was ordered to pay Macy’s $100 and the liquor store $319.97.
