B.J. is one of the last of a generation of the great American singers. His first hit was his 1966 cover of the Hank Williams’ classic, “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.” His work at Scepter Records and association with Hal David and Burt Bacharach resulted in his Academy and Grammy Hall of Fame awards for “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid’s” smash, #1 hit: “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head” launching B.J.’s career into icon status. Other hits include: “Rock & Roll Lullaby,” “Most of All,” “Two Car Garage,” “New Looks From an Old Lover” and the Elvis-covered: “I Just Can’t Help Believing.”
Now 75, Thomas remains as popular today as he has been at any time during his 50-year career. The past two years have been among the most successful for touring, following the 2013 release of his “Living Room Sessions” acoustic album in which he sang his hits in duets with fellow Grammy winners Vince Gill, Keb Mo and Lyle Lovett, as well as Sara Niemietz and Etta Britt.
