The Seacoast Wind Ensemble is Accepting Applications for Artistic Director

The Seacoast Wind Ensemble (SWE) seeks candidates for the position of Artistic Director who are experienced conductors, knowledgeable, and passionate about wind ensembles and music; organized, collaborative, and have good oral communication skills; and are visionary, with the ability to implement that vision.

SWE was established in 1984 and is a 50-piece, community-level wind ensemble, which rehearses on Tuesday evenings at Exeter High School in Exeter, New Hampshire. SWE is comprised of musicians from all occupations and trades and performs 12-15 concerts a year throughout the seacoast New Hampshire region, as well as southern Maine, Fryeburg, Maine, northern Massachusetts, and at the Boston Festival of Bands.

SWE seeks candidates with experience directing wind ensembles, who have strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to work and collaborate with others, and good oral communication skills. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in music performance/music education; a master’s degree with specialization in wind conducting is preferred. Applicants should be organized and visionary, and capable of and willing to help shape and direct an adult ensemble. Review of applications begins on October 1.
