Book Signing and Beer Tasting in Portsmouth

"Strong Boy" John Sullivan is honored with book and brew at Beara Irish Brewing Co. June 7.

The Beara Irish Brewing Co. (which is located at 2800 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth) announced that “Strong Boy” author Chris Klein will be on hand in the taproom to autograph copies on Sunday, June 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Klein stated, “John L. Sullivan’s role as the country’s first sports superstar and Irish-American hero has faded a bit from our collective memory in recent years, so I was particularly excited when I found his image gracing the labels of Beara Irish Brewing Company’s O’Sullivan Stout. I’m looking forward to coming to Beara Irish Brewing’s taproom on June 7 to raise a toast and celebrate the legacy of the ‘Boston Strong Boy,’ and it will be a great opportunity for those shopping for unique Father’s Day gifts to pick up an autographed copy of Strong Boy and bottles of O’Sullivan Stout.”

Michael Potorti, Beara Irish Founder/Brewer, added, “It’s awesome to connect with Chris to honor John Sullivan. The book is a great read. People who come in love the Stout label and we looking forward to sharing more of it with the public. Being a Dad myself, what a way to spend the day!”
