Cops Believe Felony Lane Gang Member Responsible Is For Thefts
Portsmouth Police have warrants out for Roseann Revels for ID fraud, forgeries, other charges. She is in custody in New York.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A Florida woman who is currently in custody in New York state is believed to be responsible for at least two theft incidents in the city, according to police. Roseann Revels, 37, of Alsup Drive in Rockledge, FL, is being charged with three counts of forgery, two counts of theft by deception, and two counts of identity fraud, all felonies, as well as three counts of receiving stolen property after a “lengthy investigation” of two Portsmouth incidents – on Dec. 20, 2017, and Jan. 17, 2018. Det. Sg. John Peracchi of the Portsmouth Police Department alleged that Revels “used stolen identification documents to cash, or attempt to cash, stolen checks at local banks under an assumed identity.”

“The FLG’s calling card is breaking into vehicles, stealing purses, and using the stolen IDs, credit cards, and debit cards to complete fraudulent check transactions at banks,” he noted. “The FLG generally operate in groups with surveillance and counter surveillance units. Women are generally used to cash the stolen checks and often adorn wigs and drive rental vehicles with stolen license plates. The transactions generally occur in bank drive-thrus, where distance and disguise help to make transactions successful."

Police are working with the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office to extradite Revels to New Hampshire from New York where she is currently held on charges in that state’s jurisdiction. Police, Peracchi stated, remain “committed to working these cases to their end and these warrants are proof of that pursuit.” He added that these crimes occur because the purses are left inside vehicles.
“Locked doors, closed windows, and trunks are not enough to stop these crimes,” he said. “They have and will continue to use force to enter your vehicle. Minimize your potential exposure by reducing the sensitive information you carry on your person or leave unattended.”
