Finally, Good Coffee! Profile Coffee Bar Grand Opening

When it comes to good coffee in downtown Portsmouth, options are pretty limited, but you would never expect there to be a need for a new player. We’ve all grown accustomed to and almost in love with Breaking New Grounds, then we have a Starbucks, but nothing more. White Heron is awesome, but too far for those of us who work and live downtown. Well, someone noticed the coffee void in our town, and took matters into his own hands. This man is Andrew Levinson, the owner and visionary behind Portsmouth’s newest addition, Profile Coffee Bar.

Andrew has picked up inspiration from regions all over the United States, ranging from his native Portland, Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, through Pasadena, CA and Austin, TX to New York City. He wants to bring a new coffee standard to Portsmouth, and is passionate about seeing that vision come to life. Levinson’s passion has been infused into his new team of baristas, who have been working tirelessly to make sure they understand not only the product, but the process behind it.

Using ristretto as a base to all of their espresso, Profile aims to use only the purest forms of coffee extraction. Profile has an innovative approach to coffee and an atmosphere to match. Reclaimed lumber is used generously throughout the space and is complemented by stainless steel countertops and modern furnishings. All of the work was crafted by local artists, architects and carpenters.

Profile is proud to feature the coffees of Counter Culture Coffee (counterculturecoffee.com). For two decades, Counter Culture has been a pioneer of coffee quality and sustainability. They share many fundamental values and look forward to sharing their coffees, whether as espresso or espresso based drinks, drip coffee or pour overs, or the cold brew coffee on tap.
