
UPDATE: Fire officials are stating that the fire is complete out. The bulk of the damage is on the third floor of the building. Firefighters reportedly saw the smoke coming from the building from a fire boat. Traffic is also still being diverted, according to police.

Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams as well as mutual aid are on Market Street for a report of a fire in a five story residential building, according to alerts. The fire was first reported at around 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2015, according to NorthEast Alerts.

The fire went to a fourth alarm at just before 11:30 a.m.

Black smoke was reported spewing out of the Gas Light Company area. The fire quickly went to two alarms and traffic is being diverted from the area. Area firefighters, including Hampton, are also heading to the area.
A third alarm was struck at just before 11 a.m., according to alerts.
