Greenland Man Arrested On DWI Charge: Portsmouth Police Log

The arrest was made after a crash on Lafayette Road. Plus, a Port City man was charged with assault; cops help Newington find man with gun.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Cody David Ackerson, 23, of Greenleaf Avenue in Portsmouth, was arrested on three simple assault charges at 9:52 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2019. Police served Ackerson with paperwork at the Rockingham County Jail.

Thomas James Noyes, 58, of McShane Avenue in Greenland, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 18, on aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated charges. Police were sent to Lafayette Road for a report of a two-vehicle accident in front of the Turf Depot. After investigating the incident, which included a field sobriety test, Noyes was arrested and charged.

At 11:27 on Aug. 18, a Portsmouth officer was sent to Gosling Road, Durgin Lane, and Port Walk Place to check the areas for a red Dodge Challenger for Newington police. Newington stated that the owner of the vehicle was making threats with a firearm and was also wanted on a warrant from Maine on a violation of bail after being charged with burglary. The man was not found, according to police.
