NYC Woman Charged With Attempted Murder
Breaking: Jasmine Henderson of The Bronx was arrested this morning after allegedly stabbing a hotel employee in the face, neck and chest.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A New York woman was arrested and held without bail after what police are describing as an attempt at murder in a local hotel this morning, according to an alert. Jasmine Henderson, 32, of Morris Avenue in The Bronx, NY, was arrested on March 16, 2018, and charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal threatening, and second-degree assault, all felonies. Police, according to Lt. Mark Newport of the Portsmouth Police Department, were sent to the Sheraton Harborside Hotel on Market Street at just before 10 a.m. for a report of an assault.

“Officers arrived on scene and found Henderson in the lobby of the hotel where she was taken into custody,” Newport stated. “The charges are a result of an on-scene incident in which Henderson assaulted a 58-year-old female employee of the hotel by stabbing her several times in the face, neck and chest area with scissors.”

The employee was a housekeeper reportedly assisting Henderson at the time of the incident. The victim, Newport stated, was able to flee the area and seek assistance. She was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment.
Henderson was processed and held in the Rockingham County House of Corrections. She will be arraigned on March 19.
