PORTSMOUTH, NH — The city election in Portsmouth will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

There are competitive races for at city council, school board, and police commission. Voters will go to the polls from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Ward 1: New Franklin School, 1 Franklin Drive (between Anchorage Inn and Howard Johnson, off Woodbury Avenue). (sample ballot).

Ward 2: Portsmouth Middle School, 155 Parrott Avenue (off Junkins Avenue). (sample ballot).

Ward 3: Portsmouth Senior Activity Center, 125 Cottage St. (sample ballot).

Ward 4: Dondero Elementary School, 32 Van Buren Avenue (take McKinley Road from Lafayette Road). (sample ballot).

Ward 5: Little Harbour School, 50 Clough Drive (off South Street). (sample ballot).
