Portsmouth Police Log: Man Arrested After Smashing Window at Children's Museum

Plus, sex offender allegedly failed to register and homeless man charged with stealing beer.

Taylor Milne, 26, of Decatur Road in Portsmouth, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 24, 2015, for resisting arrest or detention. Officers were sent to Marcy Street for a report of broken glass and a man going inside the first floor window of The Children’s Museum. When officers arrived, they found the man and detained him. A business representative showed up a K9 unit was called and another man was found. The man on the second floor was reportedly intoxicated. Milne was then arrested.

David R. Connell, 50, of an unknown address, was arrested at 9:56 a.m. on Aug. 24, on three sex offender change of name, address, alias duty to inform.

Donald H. Sargent, 82, of Willard Avenue in Portsmouth, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. on Aug. 24, for default or breach of bail conditions. He was arrested at police headquarters.

Eugene Shal, 43, of Strathmere Club in Amesbury, MA, was arrested at 12:17 p.m. on Aug. 24, on a theft charge. He was arrested on Islington Street after a business made a shoplifting report.

Michael A. Ireland, 48, unknown address, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. on Aug. 24, for willful concealment. A Woodbury Avenue business alleged that a man allegedly stole beer and drank them in the bathroom.
