Portsmouth Police: This Might be the Market Basket Robber's Car

Call police if you recognize this red Dodge Charger that was pictured on Feb. 2, 2015, on Lafayette Road.

Investigators inside the Portsmouth Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that may be connected to the robbery last week of the Market Basket on Lafayette Road.

The following picture features a red sedan, possibly a Dodge Charger, that was reportedly leaving the parking lot of the grocery store “at a high rate of speed immediately after the armed robbery,” according to police.

“It is believed that the vehicle exited the area on to Lafayette Road,” according to Lt. Mark Newport of the Portsmouth Police Department. “The vehicle is believed to be a Dodge Charger between the model years of 2005 to 2011. The color of the vehicle is classified as ‘Inferno Red’ by Dodge which is in fact maroon.”
