Portsmouth Woman Arrested on Conduct, Threat Charges After Standoff
Police arrested Susanne Becker yesterday after an alleged gun incident on Springbrook Circle; has previously been arrested on drug charges.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A local woman is being arraigned this morning after a standoff with police on Springbrook Circle, reportedly involving a gun, according to police. Susanne Becker, 46, of Springbrook Circle in Portsmouth, was arrested on Feb. 20, 2017, for reckless conduct, two counts of criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct.

Police were called to the home at just before 2 p.m. for a report of a woman allegedly making threats with a weapon. Lt. Mark Newport of the Portsmouth Police Department stated this morning that the department called up the Seacoast Emergency Response Team and after about five hours last night, the incident ended.

“The charges are a result of an on-scene incident in which Becker came out of her apartment and threatened police with a gun putting officers, herself and neighboring residents in danger of serious bodily injury,” Newport alleged. “The SERT team was eventually able to take Becker into custody without incident.”
Becker was processed and held overnight. She was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Portsmouth District Court.

According to a previous report on Patch, Becker was arrested in 2013 for allegedly selling crack cocaine in a Portsmouth public housing unit. Months later, despite the charges, she was allowed to stay in the public housing unit, according to SeacoastOnline.com.
