Seacoast Wind Ensemble Appoints New Artistic Director...and is on the Move!

The Seacoast Wind Ensemble (SWE) is pleased to announce the appointment of new Artistic Director, Dr. Mark Stickney, who is also Director of Bands at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Stickney has a plethora of conducting experience, across all age groups, throughout the country.

SWE underwent a five-month search and audition process before selecting Dr. Stickney. The members are excited about this new chapter for the ensemble and look forward to working with the new director. Their first performance is scheduled for February 14 in Plaistow, New Hampshire, at the Timberlane Band Festival.

We have more news! As of January, SWE will be move their home-base to Kittery, Maine, where they will develop a collaborative relationship with the Shapleigh School and the larger school district. SWE’s assistant conductor is Jonathan Roth, who is Music Director at the Shapleigh School.

SWE, established in 1984, is a 50-piece symphonic band based out of Exeter, New Hampshire. Comprised of musicians from all professional occupations and trades, SWE performs annually throughout seacoast New Hampshire and other New England locations.
