Goffstown Woman Accused Of DWI After Fatal Crash In Salem
Elaine Regan of Goffstown was arrested on drunken driving charges after a crash that led to the death of a Salem woman on Main Street.

SALEM, NH — A Goffstown woman is accused of drunken driving and crashing into another — leading to the death of another woman in that vehicle. Around 1:15 p.m., officers and firefighters were sent to Main Street near Geremonty Drive for a report of a crash involving a 2009 Kia and a 2015 Jeep Patriot. Both vehicles had sustained significant damage, according to Joel Dolan, the deputy chief of police.
"A preliminary investigation by police suggests that the Jeep collided with the Kia, causing the Kia to hit a stone wall," Dolan said.
Two Salem residents, a man and a woman, in their 30s, were in the Kia at the time of the crash, Dolan said. Both suffered injuries and were transported to hospitals — with the woman sustaining life-threatening injuries.

"She was later transported to Tufts Medical Center in Boston where she succumbed to her injuries," Dolan said.
The driver of the Jeep, Elaine Regan, 57, of Goffstown, was also taken to a hospital and later, charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with serious bodily injury, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, and reckless operation. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in Rockingham County Superior Court on May 21.
