MA Stolen Pickup Truck Suspect Caught in Derry NH

A multi-agency manhunt ended with the arrest a man in Derry. He allegedly stole a truck from Haverhill belonging a Kingston horse trainer.

DERRY, NH — A man who allegedly stole a pickup truck in Massachusetts, was pursued by police through numerous southern New Hampshire communities, dumped the vehicle in Chester, and then, fled from police, was finally captured tonight in Derry, according to reports online. Information about the suspect is not available at post time but according to Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography, he was captured on English Range Road in Derry by a New Hampshire State Police trooper at “Gator,” a K-9 unit who flushed him out of a local wetlands area.

The vehicle was reportedly owned by a Kingston woman who is also a horse trainer, according to a note on Facebook. Her truck, according to NH1.com, was stolen from her father’s garage in Haverhill, MA.

Salem Police picked up the case after a LoJack ping led to a multi-agency pursuit of the vehicle through Salem and other communities at around 9:30 a.m. this morning, according to Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

After finding the truck on Cluff Road, officers attempted to stop the vehicle, laid down spike strips, and the pursued the vehicle through North Salem and then into other communities – including Derry, Hampstead, Sandown, and Chester – when the vehicle stopped after driving along a section of powerlines. From there, K-9 units and police fanned out, attempting to find the suspect.
