Mass. Man Indicted On Death Resulting Fentanyl Charges: Rockingham County Superior Court

Teen indicted in Windham gun shop burglary case; elderly Danville man faces child sexual assault charges; man indicted on gun threat charge.

BRENTWOOD, NH — The following people were indicted recently in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Shane Derek Gynan, 39, of Fairway Drive in Derry on a simple assault-extended term of imprisonment charge. He was accused of assaulting a Derry police officer on April 18.

Shamus Horton, 19, of Winter Street in Saugus, Massachusetts, on burglary and theft by unauthorized taking-firearm charges, both felonies. He was accused of burglarizing Second Amendment Arms in Windham on Sept. 24, 2021, and possessing multiple stolen firearms.

Steven Welch Jr., 75, of Beach Plain Road in Danville on five aggravated felonious sexual assault counts and three felonious sexual assault counts, all felonies. He was accused of fondling a girl and having a girl fondle him between Jan. 1, 2017, and Feb. 8, 2022, in Danville.

Elijah Alexander Sapp, 25, of Wayland Avenue in Manchester on possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, and two counts of delivery of articles prohibited, all felonies. He was accused of possessing the drugs in the Rockingham County House of Corrections in Bentwood on July 20, 2022.

Bryan Scanlon, 59, of Drew Road in Derry on a felony criminal threatening charge. He was accused of pointing a Smith & Wesson 380 pistol at another person in Derry on Jan. 29.

James William Shampney III, 33, of Tsiennetto Road in Derry on theft by unauthorized taking and willful concealment charges, both felonies. He was accused of stealing items and removing price markings to lower the price of items at Walmart in Portsmouth on Oct. 18, 2022. Twice before, according to the indictment, he has convicted on theft charges.

Edward R. Silva, 54, of Parkerville Road in Chelmsford, MA, on two felony dispensing a controlled drug: death resulting charges. He was accused of acting with another to dispense fentanyl on Sept. 27, 2022, which led to the death of a Pelham man, and between Sept. 27, and Sept. 28, 2022, dispensing fentanyl causing the death of another in Londonderry.
