Numerous accidents were reported in Salem, Windham, Derry, and Londonderry, according to online alerts.
SALEM, NH - The I-93 corridor in the southern part of New Hampshire is reporting a number of accidents due to a snow squall, according to alerts online. Accidents are being reported at this hour in Derry, Londonderry, Salem, and Windham.
I-93 is closed in Derry near Mile Marker 9.4, according to the NH Department of Transportation. The Manchester Information Facebook site is reporting that it is near whiteout conditions in some communities along I-93. As many as 40 cars may be involved in the crashes, according to an alert, including tractor trailers, cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks.
Numerous fire and rescue teams from area communities responded to the scene to assist New Hampshire State Police.
