Salem Pet of the Week: Milt Muffin
Are you looking for a cat that is well behaved, sweet, and friendly?

SALEM, NH - Milt Muffin’s story began on a frigid, windy afternoon in February of last year.
Everyone at the Salem Animal Rescue League remembers the day very well, it was on Feb. 7, 2015, to be exact. A very nice couple showed up at SARL with a cat in a carrier, looking to surrender him. They had found him living in a plastic kiddie pool in their backyard. It was freezing cold and so windy, they thought he was hiding out in the pool looking for cover.
They did attempt to find an owner, but nobody seemed to know who this adorable Orange tabby belonged to. They feared for the cat, being out in the extreme weather, and unfortunately were not able to keep him themselves, so they came to SARL looking for help.

We gladly took this boy in, and named him Milt Muffin. He was a handsome cat , and super friendly too! We had no doubt that he was going to be highly adoptable, and would be scooped up in a heartbeat when his vetting was complete and he was made available for adoption.
Little did we know at that time, that Milt Muffin would have some health issues that would set his availability back, and we certainly never would have imagined that Milt Muffin would still be awaiting his forever home an entire year later! During the course of time he has been with us, Milt muffin has been staying in a foster home with one of SARL’s amazing volunteers. She adores him, and wishes so much that she could keep him forever.

Unfortunately, Milt Muffin needs to live in a home that does not have other cats, and she has a cat at home. If you are looking for a cat that is well behaved, sweet, and friendly, this would be the perfect fit for you! Some of Milt Muffin’s very favorite things to do in his foster home are sitting in his foster mom’s lap watching the birds and squirrels out the window, finding a sun spot on the floor to sprawl across and nap, playing with cat ping pong balls and running through his cat tunnel. This boy is an absolutely amazing cat, and he deserves a forever home and a family of his own. His biggest wish is to find forever before his one year surrender anniversary of Feb. 7.
Do you have dogs that are cat friendly, but no longer have a cat of your own? Milt Muffin can live in a home with dogs, as a matter of fact, he would love that! Do you have a home that suddenly feels very empty because your beloved cat has crossed the rainbow bridge, and you are feeling like you are ready to love another deserving cat? If so, Milt Muffin could be the cat for you! Do you know of someone that is looking for an only cat? If so, please share Milt Muffin’s story! He is only three years old (almost!) and is doing so well! He does have a few special needs, but they are low cost and very easy to manage! Please help to make this boy’s dream come true! He deserves his fairy tale ending, and we cannot wait to send him home to live happily ever after.
If you would like to know more about his special condition and are interested in meeting him, please contact SARL’s Feline Department at 603-893-3210 Ext 207 and we would be happy to schedule a meet and greet!
