Salem Police Log: Fatal OD Reported on Oakridge Avenue

Plus, Massachusetts men arrested on various charges; Newton teen bagged for shoplifting.

Ali Marrhade, 46, of Nahant Avenue in Revere, MA, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2015, on willful concealment and theft charges. He was arrested at Lord & Taylor at the Mall at Rockingham Park. Marrhade was released on $300 cash bail.

Doug M. Bozek, 44, of Ditson Place in Methuen, MA, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. on Aug. 8, on a bench warrant. Officers were called to Market Basket on Broadway for a report of three subjects “going through the parking lot and looking into vehicles.” The employee reported that they may have been the same people at the store the previous day that attempted to steal items and then return them for a refund. An officer spoke with one of the men, Bozek, and arrested him after an electronic bench warrant was found by dispatch. The three other men were served with no trespass orders.

Elias R. Markos, 27, of Ontario Street in Lynn, MA, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. on Aug. 8, on a breach of bail charge. He was arrested at Giovanni’s on Main Street.

Robert D. Officer, 49, of Lawrence Road in Salem, was arrested at 10 p.m. on Aug. 8, and charged with breach of bail conditions, simple assault, and criminal threatening against a person. Police were called to Lawrence Road for a dispute with a man alleging that his roommate was “out of control, slamming doors, and threatening to kill him.” The weapon in question was a kitchen knives, according to police. Officer was arrested and held without bail.

6:36 a.m. on Aug. 9: Officers were sent to Oakridge Avenue where a 50-year-old man passed away due to a drug overdose.

Ian P. Wellinger, 18, of Newton, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. on Aug. 9, for willful concealment, theft, at the Kmart on Broadway.

Shawn R. English, 20, of Andover Street in Lawrence, MA, was issued a summons at 8:06 p.m. on Aug. 9, for unlawful possession/intoxication at the Mall at Rockingham Park.

Colin J. Milmore, 23, of Highland Road in Andover, MA, received a summons for possession of controlled drugs and transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle at 2:09 a.m. on Aug. 10, after police were sent to Sandhill Road for a report of someone yelling, screaming, and honking a vehicle horn in a parking lot.
