Salem UPS Driver Arrested After Merrimack Hit-and-Run Crash
Police allege that Richard Leno left the scene of an accident on Sept. 8.

According to Merrimack Police, a tractor-trailer truck driver, Richard Leno, 44, of Scollay Circle in Salem, was arrested on Sept. 15, on a conduct after an accident charge.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, police were called to NH Hydraulics on Columbia Circle for a report of a hit-and-run accident. An employee at the business saw damage on their motor vehicle that could not be accounted for, according to the report.

“A follow-up investigation was subsequently conducted during which time video surveillance of the parking lot revealed that a UPS driver, operating a tractor trailer unit,” according to Lt. M. Tarleton, “had struck the vehicle involved while backing and left the area without notifying the property owner and/or police.”
The driver was later identified as Leno.

Leno was arrested, released on personal recognizance bail, and is due in Merrimack Circuit Court on Sept. 30.
