State Police: Mass. Man Used False Address to Get NH ID

Another day, another person from Massachusetts allegedly trying to obtain a New Hampshire driver’s license under false pretenses, according to law enforcement officials.

Huertas Ortiz, 35, of Lawrence, MA, tried to do just that and was arrested on March 9, 2015, at around 3 p.m. by Troop G of the New Hampshire State Police on multiple counts of tampering with public records and unsworn falsification.

Troopers, according to a report, were alerted that Ortiz was claiming to be “Andres Huertas Ortiz,” and was allegedly attempting to obtain a NH license using fraudulent documents.

“During the investigation, it was also revealed that Ortiz had used a false address on his application,” according to Sgt. Andrew Player of the state police. “Ortiz was taken into custody at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Salem.”

Ortiz was held without bail and was arraigned yesterday.

Salem Police, other troopers, the NH DMV, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also assisted with the arrest and investigation, according to a report.
