5 Things To Do This Weekend In NJ: Food Trucks, Music, Summer Market

Here's what is on the calendar this weekend around the Garden State. ​

NEW JERSEY — It's the end of another week, and what was a short week for some given the Independence Day holiday. Summer is in full swing in New Jersey, with festivals and outdoor markets going on as well as concerts, fairs, and celebrations of everything local.

Rain is possible Saturday, and expected Sunday in most of the state, so check the forecast before heading out.

Here's what is on the calendar this weekend around the Garden State.

The Food Truck and Jazz Festival in Orange promises "an unforgettable experience filled with delicious food and live jazz music," including bebop, soul, heavy blues, a big band, and straight-ahead jazz. The festival is from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Monte Irvin Orange Park.

Support a local food pantry and enjoy a summer day browsing handmade vendors during the Summer Market at Horseshoe Lake Park. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday in Roxbury Township, going until 4 p.m. "Shop decor, handmade jewelry, tumblers, trinkets & dozens of unique gifts. Plus, enjoy a unique walk-in boutique full of curated fashion finds."

The Cherry Hill Library is inviting people for a groovy time celebrating a summer of reading with a Summer of Love Festival. This event beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday will include "music, retro craft stations, and an ice cream truck," and encourages all ages to come in their grooviest attire. No registration required.

On the lookout for more fireworks? The Food Trucks and Fireworks at Johnson Memorial Park in Jackson is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. There will be live music, giveaways, a beer garden and more. (Read more in this Patch article)
