Lacey Man Drowns After Getting Caught In Rip Current: Police

A Forked River man died after getting caught in a rip current in Ship Bottom, local police said.

Four people were caught in the rip current off East 21st Street shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Ship Bottom police said.

Search Suspended For Swimmer Who Drowned Off Seaside Park

The search for a man who drowned Friday in Seaside Park has been suspended, and he remains missing, police said Monday.

The 23-year-old Palmyra man went missing shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday near Decatur Avenue, and authorities searched for him until dark on Friday night, Seaside Park Sgt. Andrew Casole said.

Boy Killed In Elizabeth Shooting

A boy was shot to death late Friday night in Elizabeth, according to media reports.

According to News12, the boy was found at 10:15 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene.

6 Protestors Arrested Outside Newark ICE Facility

Six people, including two teenagers, were arrested outside of the Delaney Hall immigration detention center from Saturday night into Sunday, according to media reports.

According to NJ.com, the protesters were arrested for property damage and blocking the building's entrance.

Fire Destroys Home On Route 9 In Bayville

A fire destroyed a home on Route 9 in Bayville Sunday evening.

The fire, at 225 Atlantic City Blvd., shut Route 9 from JFK Boulevard to Scott Drive from about 7 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m., according to alerts from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman Falls 10 Stories Inside Bergen County Trash Chute

Firefighters in Hackensack rescued a woman on Sunday who fell at least 10 stories in an apartment building trash chute, officials said.

The Hackensack Fire Department said they raced to the building around 1 a.m. on Sunday after getting a 911 call saying a woman had entered the 14th floor trash chute of 150 Main St.
