NJ St. Patrick’s Day Parade Guide 2023
Some towns around NJ have already held their St. Paddy's Day parades, but there are still Irish celebrations aplenty this March.
NEW JERSEY — Whether you’re wearing green to celebrate your heritage or just to blend in and enjoy the day, it's time to shake off the winter blues with Irish dancing and music at parades around New Jersey.
St. Patrick's Day is Friday, March 17, 2023.
The Irish and Irish-American spirit is strong in Jersey, with more than 13 percent claiming Irish ancestry according to the US Census Bureau’s 2016-2020 American Community Survey.

Last year, legislators approved a resolution designating March as “Irish-American Heritage Month” in New Jersey.
Nationally, 9.7 percent of people have Irish ancestry.

Some towns around the green Garden State have already held their St. Paddy's Day parades, but there are still Irish celebrations aplenty to end the month of March. Only one is actually on that Friday — the One Block Parade in Jersey City.

And, one parade didn't make our March list — Point Pleasant Beach is hosting its 3rd Annual "Sham-ROCK!" on April 1, beginning at 11:30 a.m. and also including live music and a leprechaun scavenger hunt.

The Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12, at 1 p.m. on the Atlantic City boardwalk (this is the first time since 2019 this parade will be held).
Bergen County
Bergenfield
41st Annual Bergen County St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m. from South Washington Avenue and East Englewood Avenue in Bergenfield.
Cape May County
North Wildwood
St. Patrick's Day Celebration and Parade
Saturday, March 11, ceremony beginning at noon at Wildwood City Hall with the parade to follow. Parade participants include local school bands, the VFW Color Guard, Vietnam Veterans of America, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Irish Pipe Brigade, Emerald Society, Miss North Wildwood, Queen Oceania, Anglesea Irish Society, and more.
Essex County
Newark
Newark St. Patrick’s Parade
Friday, March 10 at 1 p.m. beginning at the corner of Mulberry Street and Raymond Boulevard. This parade typically features marching bands, bagpipers, dancers, and a variety of local cultural and community groups.
West Orange
West Orange St. Patrick's Parade
Sunday, March 12 at 12:15 p.m., kicking off at the corners of Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Main Street. Click here for more information.

Bayonne St. Patrick’s Parade
Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. beginning on Broadway Street.
Harrison, East Newark, and Kearny
United Irish Associations of West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m. beginning at Holy Cross Church in Harrison, passing through East Newark and ending at Kearny Town Hall. Parade includes floats, fire trucks, marchers, Irish dancers as well as Peruvian and Portuguese dancers.
Jersey City
Jersey City One Block Parade
Friday, March 17 at 4 p.m. beginning at the Police Memorial on Montgomery Street.
Mercer County
Hamilton Township
The Original St. Patrick’s Day Parade At Hamilton
Saturday, March 11 , kicking off at 1 p.m. Nottingham Fire House on Mercer Street. This parade will feature floats, bagpipe players, and more. The opening ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m.
This year’s parade theme is “The Green Grasses of Ireland.”
Monmouth County
Asbury Park
Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12, at 1 p.m. following a noon ceremony at City Hall.
Highlands
19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 18, beginning at Waterwitch Avenue at 2 p.m.
Bagpipers, marching bands, Irish dancers, and floats will parade through Highlands for this celebration.
Woodbridge
Woodbridge St. Patrick's Day Parade
Sunday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. beginning at Woodbridge High School.

Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. on T.D. Bank North Access Road on Skyline Drive. Ringwood.

30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street. Local marchers include those from fire departments, Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, American Legions, rescue squads, and political officials — click here for more.

26th Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 11, beginning at Commerce and Jeannete Avenues in Union at 1 p.m.
The Midway Reviewing Stand at Morris and Caldwell Avenues will feature parade announcers with details of all the participants, history and other information, organizers said.
