Heat Advisories Issued As Thunderstorms Threaten NJ: Latest Forecast
New Jersey is ending July on a wet and muggy note - and it's only going to get worse in the beginning of August, forecasters say.
NEW JERSEY — July is coming to an end with another chance of thunderstorms and extremely high heat for New Jerseyans Wednesday, according to the latest forecast.
Wet and muggy is the tune for the rest of the week, National Weather Service forecasters said in their daily briefing. Temperatures will climb up Wednesday to the upper-80s/low-90s, with it feeling like the upper-90s in some areas of the Garden State. And some parts of the state already saw some rain as of Wednesday morning.
Passaic, Bergen, Hudson, Union and Essex counties will be under a heat advisory starting 1 p.m. today through 8 p.m. Thursday. Temperatures will feel like 95 to 100 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

Thunderstorms may form in the afternoon and early evening hours, forecasters said. However, these aren't likely to be severe, the National Weather Service said.
It'll only get worse as August starts. Thursday will see heat advisories issued across much of the state (except for the far northwest and southern tips) that will last until Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service. It's expected to feel like up to 102 degrees, forecasters say.

Thursday will likely be the hottest day of the week and brings with it further potential for scattered storms, the National Weather Service said. Meanwhile, Friday will have a greater chance of storms.
