Asbury Park Man Killed In Fatal Rt. 9 Hit And Run: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old Manalapan resident was charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal collision in Middlesex County, authorities said.
MANALAPAN, NJ — An Asbury Park man has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit and run earlier this week on Rt. 9 near Ferry Road, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
Anthony Allen, 64, of Asbury Park, was pronounced dead at the scene following the report of a man's body lying on the center median between the northbound and southbound lanes of Rt. 9 in Old Bridge on Feb. 15. Read more: Another Old Bridge Fatal Hit And Run On Rt. 9
Prince Fitzpatrick, a 21-year-old resident of Manalapan, was arrested and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and third-degree endangering an injured victim.

Fitzpatrick is currently at the Middlesex County Jail where he is awaiting sentencing.
The investigation is still considered active and anyone who might have information is urged to contact either Officer Connolly of the Old Bridge Police Department or Detective Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
